Gluten Free Heavenly Oreo Dessert
Now that Oreo has their own gluten free cookies, just about everyone should be able to find gluten free chocolate sandwich cookies. That being said, I can’t think of any reasons not to make this dessert.
The instant pudding, cool whip and cream cheese along with the few other ingredients are naturally gluten free. The cookies are the ingredient that have the gluten and with the G Free Oreos available, that is no longer a problem.
Where to Buy Gluten Free Oreos and Other Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
Since they’ve been released, I’ve seen gluten free in just about every grocery store, Wal-Mart or Target I’ve been in. They are typically located next to traditional Oreos, but check the gluten free aisle if you don’t see them in the regular section.
If you can’t find gluten free Oreos where you shop, try these other options.

KinniTOOS Sandwich Cream Cookies by Kinnikinnick – We’ve had good luck with the Kinnikinnick brand. We really like using their vanilla wafers for Gluten Free Banana Pudding as well as making a Gluten Free Vanilla Wafer Pie Crust. Look for their chocolate cream sandwich cookies in grocery stores or get them online.

Gluten Free Heavenly Oreo Dessert Recipe Notes
A food processor makes quick work out of making cookie crumbs. Other methods, such as placing the cookies in a zip top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin works as well.
Mixing the cream cheese and pudding together before slowly mixing in the milk keeps the mixture from splattering too much.
Folding in the whipped topping by hand keeps the dessert light and airy.
Sprinkling the cookie crumbs by hand allows for even coverage on top of the dessert.
Swap out the vanilla pudding for chocolate for a different taste and recipe.
The first time I made and tasted this recipe, I knew it was going to be one that I needed to keep handy so I could make it again. I hope you give this recipe a try and enjoy it with your family.
