Where to Buy Gluten Free Vanilla Wafers

Gluten Free Vanilla Wafers, like the Kinnikinnick Brand, are in many grocery stores in the aisle with other cookies or the gluten free section of the store. They are also available online.

How to Make a Gluten Free Vanilla Wafer Pie Crust

  1. Finely Crush Vanilla Wafers using a Food Processor or another method.
  2. Place Cookie Crumbs, Sugar, and Melted Butter in a Medium Bowl and combine well.
  3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9 inch pie dish.
  4. Bake Crust for 9-10 minutes in a 350ºF oven.
  5. Cool crust thoroughly and fill with your favorite pie recipe.

Recipe Tips

Crushing the Cookies

A food processor is the easiest way to make fine cookie crumbs but a zip top bag and rolling pin works well too.

Forming the Crust

A flat bottomed glass or cup helps in firmly packing the crumb mixture into the bottom of the pan.

For the sides, use the glass to press the crumb mixture against the side of pan while placing a finger along the top of the crumbs to pack them down level with the top of the pan.

Cool the Crust

The crust will be soft when removed from the oven. It will crisp and firm up as it cools. Cool the crust completely before filling it.
