How to Make Homemade Coffee Syrup

Homemade Coffee Syurp is simple syrup with added ingredients for the flavor profile you are looking for. For example, vanilla extract added makes vanilla syrup. For Pumpkin Spice Syrup, canned pumpkin and fall spices are blended into the syrup.

  1. To make the simple syrup equal parts of sugar and water are added to small sauce pan with the other ingredients for the flavor profile you are making.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce to a simmer.
  3. Simmer for about 10 minutes for the sugar to dissolve and the flavors to blend then remove from the heat and allow to cool.

How to Store Homemade Coffee Syurp

Store the syrup in the refridgerator covered for up to a week or two.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Granuulated Sugar
  • 3 Tbs. Canned Pumpkin
  • ¼ tsp. Cinnamon
  • tsp. Ground Ginger
  • tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1 Pinch Ground Cloves
  • ¼ tsp. Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Combine all of the ingredients except for the vanilla extract in a small sauce pan over medium heat.
  • Bring the mix to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Cool and place into a small jar or bottle.
  • Use desired amount (1 – 1 ½ tsp) in coffee to sweeten and flavor.
  • Store in refridgerator for 1 to 2 weeks.
