Gluten Free Spaghetti Crust

  • 6 oz spaghetti
  • 2 TBS Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ Cup Parmesan Cheese, Shredded or from the Canister

Cheese Layer

  • 1 Cup Ricotta Cheese
  • 2 TBS Fresh Parsley or 1 tsp Dried
  • ½ tsp. Dried Italian Seasoning

Meat Sauce

  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • ½ Small Onion, Diced
  • ½ Bell Pepper, Diced
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced

  • Press the spaghetti into a greased deep dish pie plate and form a crust.
  • Combine the ricotta cheese, parsley and Italian Seasoning and spread the mixture over the spaghetti.
  • Brown the ground beef along with the onions and peppers, adding the garlic for the last 30 seconds or so. Drain any fat, if needed.
  • Add the sauce Italian Seasoning, salt and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until thicken and spread over ricotta cheese.
  • Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes. Top with shredded mozzarella and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before serving to allow the pasta to set up.

Notes

Pie Plate – If you don’t have a deep dish pie plate bake the Gluten Free Spaghetti Pie in an 8x8 or 2-quart casserole dish using the same cooking directions.
Pasta – While the recipe states 6oz of spaghetti, if you have an 8oz box just use it all if you want. The recipe will still work.
Meat Sauce – Change up the meat sauce as needed. Use sausage instead of beef or a combination of them both. Ground Turkey would be a great option as well.
Seasoning – Use your favorite Italian seasonings in the sauce or spice it up with some red pepper flakes.
