Gluten Free Spaghetti Crust
- 6 oz spaghetti
- 2 TBS Butter
- 2 Eggs
- ½ Cup Parmesan Cheese, Shredded or from the Canister
Cheese Layer
- 1 Cup Ricotta Cheese
- 2 TBS Fresh Parsley or 1 tsp Dried
- ½ tsp. Dried Italian Seasoning
Meat Sauce
- 1 lb. Ground Beef
- ½ Small Onion, Diced
- ½ Bell Pepper, Diced
- 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
- 1 tsp Dried Italian Seasoning
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
- 2 Cups Pasta Sauce, use your favorite jarred brand
- 1 Cup Mozzarella or Italian Cheese Blend, Shredded
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Cook spaghetti for the lowest time on the package and drain. You want it al dente. It will cook further in the oven.
Toss the pasta with butter and stir in the eggs and parmesan cheese.
Press the spaghetti into a greased deep dish pie plate and form a crust.
Combine the ricotta cheese, parsley and Italian Seasoning and spread the mixture over the spaghetti.
Brown the ground beef along with the onions and peppers, adding the garlic for the last 30 seconds or so. Drain any fat, if needed.
Add the sauce Italian Seasoning, salt and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until thicken and spread over ricotta cheese.
Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes. Top with shredded mozzarella and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
Cool for 10 minutes before serving to allow the pasta to set up.
Pie Plate – If you don’t have a deep dish pie plate bake the Gluten Free Spaghetti Pie in an 8x8 or 2-quart casserole dish using the same cooking directions.
Pasta – While the recipe states 6oz of spaghetti, if you have an 8oz box just use it all if you want. The recipe will still work.
Meat Sauce – Change up the meat sauce as needed. Use sausage instead of beef or a combination of them both. Ground Turkey would be a great option as well.
Seasoning – Use your favorite Italian seasonings in the sauce or spice it up with some red pepper flakes.
