- 8 Cups Rice Chex Cereal
- 2 1.5 oz Bags of Freeze Dried Apples, divided
- 9 Tbs Butter 1 stick and an extra tablespoon
- ½ Cup Brown Sugar
- ¼ Cup Granulated White Sugar
- 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp Allspice
Preheat the oven to 275º
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Take 2/3 of one bag freeze dried apples and grind it up in the spice grinder into a fine powder.
Pour the Chex and remaining apples in a large bowl along with the full bag of apples.
In a medium sauce pan, melt the butter.
Add both sugars, apple powder, and all the spices to the sauce pan.
Mix until the sugars and spices are mostly dissolved into the butter.
Add the butter mixture to the Chex and Apples and gently combine until coated.
Place the Chex Mix onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
Let cool before storing.
- The Chex Mix will crisp back up as it cools.
- Store in an airtight container.
