All canned chili is not gluten free. It is important to read the labels ingredients on every can before each purchase. In addition to reading the label carefully, look for words on the label such as “gluten free”.

For example, the Hormel Brand canned chili has varieties that do and do not contain gluten. Hormel Chili with no beans contains wheat protein but, Hormel Chili Chunky Beef No Beans doesn’t list any ingredients on the label that contain gluten.

Brands change their recipes from time to time just as home cooks do. Read package labeling each time you purchase a product that is not clearly marked gluten free.

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz. Block of Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 1 10-15 oz. Can of Chili, (Gluten Free if needed)
  • 1 8 oz. Bag of Shredded Cheese, use your favorite blend
  • 1 Bag Corn Tortilla Chips

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven to 350ºF.
  • Spread the softened cream cheese into the bottom of a pie plate or other oven proof dish.
  • Top with the chili and sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and the dip is hot and bubbly.
  • Enjoy with corn tortilla chips.
