4 Ingredient Gluten Free Apple Muffins
If you have Apple Pie Spice or Pumpkin Pie Spice in your pantry these muffins can be made with just 4 ingredients. Mix 1 teaspoon of either spice blend into the cake mix in place of the individual spices.
Gluten Free Apple Muffin Mix Ins
Use about ½ cup of the following optional mix ins to give the muffins additional flavor and texture.
- Raisins
- Dried Cranberries
- Chopped Pecans
- Chopped Walnuts
Do Muffin Tins Need Liners
Muffin tin liners are optional and allow for less clean up in regards to the muffin pan. To make the muffins without liners, grease each muffin cup and bake as directed.

Easy Gluten Free Apple Muffins
Ingredients
- 1 15 oz. Gluten Free Yellow Cake Mix
- 2 Cups Applesauce
- 1 Cup Apple, Peeled and Chopped
- 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
- ½ tsp. Ground Nutmeg
- ¼ tsp. Ground Ginger
- ¼ tsp. Allspice Or Cloves
- ½ Cup Dried Cranberries or Raisins, optional
- ½ Cup Chopped Walnuts or Pecans, optional
Instructions
- Grease a muffin pan or line with paper liners
- Whisk the cake mix and spices together thoroughly.
- Add the applesauce, chopped apples, and any mix-ins, if using, and mix thoroughly.
- Fill each muffin tin ¾ full.
- Bake at 350ºF for 20 – 25 minutes until cooked through and a toothpick comes out clean.

- If using muffin liners, cooled muffins will come out of the liners more easily than warm muffins.
