Gluten Free No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

Are you ready for it? Gluten Free No Bake Peanut Butter Bars are here! It’s hard to believe just how easy and tasty this snack is. Don’t spend all day in the kitchen. Whip up this delicious treat in just a few minutes!

Gluten Free No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars are a classic recipe that I think have been around as long as lunch ladies at school cafeterias. They’re made with the flavor combination that so many people love. Peanut butter and Chocolate!  I don’t remember any lunch lady serving these yummy treats to me as a kid. If they did, they were certainly not gluten free!

Making Peanut Butter Bars Gluten Free

Classic recipes often use graham cracker crumbs in the peanut butter mixture. Instead of graham cracker crumbs I use crushed Honey Nut Cheerios! They have the same texture and slight sweetness you’ll get from the traditional crumbs without the gluten.

Are Honey Nut Cheerios Gluten Free?

Honey Nut Cheerios

Yes, according to General Mills, Honey Nut Cheerios are gluten free. They currently have no ingredients in them that contain gluten.  Recipes can change. ALWAYS READ YOUR PACKAGING to be safe.

Cheerios are made with oats. Even though they are marked gluten free, some people are still sensitive to them. This is because oats are one of the grains that sometimes come in contact with other grains, like wheat, during processing.

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars Recipe Tips

Ground Honey Nut Cheerios

Making Honey Nut Cheerios Crumbs – Use 5 Cups of cereal to make 2 Cups of crumbs.

Gluten Free Oats – For those of you sensitive to Cheerios use Certified Gluten Free Oats. Grind some up into a crumb consistency and use them in place of the cereal. I do not use oats in my peanut butter bars. Play with the oats amount in the recipe and how much they are processed into smaller pieces until you find an amount and texture you are happy with.

Chocolate Chips – I like semisweet chocolate chips for my recipe. If you like milk chocolate go for it! The choice is yours.

Melting Chocolate – Melt the chocolate in 30 second intervals, stirring each time. The short time intervals will make sure the chocolate doesn’t over heat. It needs to be smooth enough to spread.

Use Wet Hands – Slightly damp hands make easy work of pressing the peanut butter mixture into pan.

Make Them Dairy Free – Use Dairy Free Chocolate Chips and Margarine to make this recipe dairy free.

Make Thick Bars – Use an 8×8 or 9×9 Pan for thicker peanut butter bars.

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

I think these Gluten Free No Bake Peanut Butter Bars are going to be a new favorite for those of you that don’t bake or can’t get enough peanut butter and chocolate.  Easy, decadent, and no bake. There’s nothing left to say. Enjoy!
