- 1 Cup Long Grain Rice
- ½ Stick Unsalted Butter
- 1 Packet Gluten Free Dry Onion Soup Mix
- 1 4 oz. Can of Mushrooms Drained
Place Butter in a large microwave safe casserole dish or bowl
Microwave on high for 30 seconds to one minute until butter melts.
Add rice to melted butter, stir and cook covered for 1 minute.
Stir rice and butter and microwave for an additional minute. This helps toast the rice slightly.
Add two cups of water and the onion soup mix to the rice and butter and mix well.
Cover dish and microwave on high for 17-18 minutes until rice is cooked.
Let rice rest covered for 5 minutes.
Fluff with a fork and serve.
- Rice – Use your favorite long grain rice for this recipe.
- Dairy Free - Use margarine in place of butter for a dairy free version.
- Add More Flavor – Add a teaspoon of dried parsley or a little garlic powder to boost the flavor even more.
