Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Long Grain Rice
  • ½ Stick Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Packet Gluten Free Dry Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 4 oz. Can of Mushrooms Drained

Instructions

  • Place Butter in a large microwave safe casserole dish or bowl
  • Microwave on high for 30 seconds to one minute until butter melts.
  • Add rice to melted butter, stir and cook covered for 1 minute.
  • Stir rice and butter and microwave for an additional minute. This helps toast the rice slightly.
  • Add two cups of water and the onion soup mix to the rice and butter and mix well.
  • Cover dish and microwave on high for 17-18 minutes until rice is cooked.
  • Let rice rest covered for 5 minutes.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve.

Notes

  • Rice – Use your favorite long grain rice for this recipe.
  • Dairy Free - Use margarine in place of butter for a dairy free version.
  • Add More Flavor – Add a teaspoon of dried parsley or a little garlic powder to boost the flavor even more.
