Make your own Gluten Free Taco Seasoning.  Packets are expensive for what they contain.  You must also review ingredients on every packet, every time you purchase one, for ingredients containing gluten.  Save both time and mix up a single recipe for taco night or a batch of it for multiple uses.

What is Gluten Free Taco Seasoning Made Of?

Gluten Free Taco Seasoning is a blend of spices containing chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt and pepper. Cayenne Pepper is added for a spicier seasoning blend.

How Much Taco Seasoning in a Packet?

A packet of taco seasoning contains about 2 Tablespoons of the spice blend.

This recipe makes as much as a store bought packet and is enough seasoning for 1 to 1 ½ lbs. of ground beef.

Recipe Notes

The Chili Powder – I use a mild chili powder blend found in most grocery stores. You could also use a specific chili powder such as Ancho if you wanted to.

Heat Level – For families that like spicier foods, add some cayenne pepper to the mix. Start with ¼ tsp. and adjust as needed.

Salt – Salt is an ingredient in the recipe that is based on taste and preference. Use ¾-1 tsp. of salt per pound of ground beef.
