Gluten Free Yellow Cake Mix
I used a gluten free yellow cake mix from Aldi’s that runs around 2.00 a box. Aldi’s has some great Gluten Free products if have a store near you. If you don’t have an Aldi’s, here are some other Gluten Free Yellow Cake Mix Options.

The apple pie filling I used from LIDL was clearly marked gluten free. Here are some other brands that are gluten free.
Spice Substitution Shortcut
If you have apple pie spice or pumpkin spice on hand use 2 teaspoons of it in place of the separate spices added to the cake mix.

Gluten Free Apple Cake
Ingredients
- 1 Box Gluten Free Yellow Cake Mix
- 1 21 oz. Can Apple Pie Filling
- 3 Eggs
- 3 Tbs. Sugar
- 2 tsp. Cinnamon, Divided
- ½ tsp. Ground Nutmeg
- ¼ tsp. Ground Ginger
- ¼ tsp. Allspice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ºF (325ºF for dark or nonstick pan).
- Lightly spray grease only the bottom of a 9 x 13” pan.
- In a small bowl, mix together sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and set aside.
- In a large bowl combine cake mix, remaining teaspoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice and whisk to combine.
- Add the apple pie filling and eggs to the bowl.
- With a hand or stand mixer, Mix on low to medium speed for about two minutes, scraping bowl as needed. The batter will be thick and there will still be apple pieces in the batter.
- Place half the batter into the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle evenly with half of the sugar cinnamon mix.
- Dollop with the remaining batter and spread evenly across the pan.
- Sprinkle the remaining sugar cinnamon mix across the top.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out dry.
- Serve warm or room temperature on its own or topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
- Store at room temperature loosely covered.
