Rolo Pretzel Bites on Plate

I’ve got a Christmas Candy that my family loves and I’m sharing it with you. It’s easy for you, barely a recipe, and perfect for the kids to help with. They’re Rolo Pretzel Bites!

Everyone loves homemade candies around the holidays and Tara and I always make some goodies for friends, family, and ourselves. While we enjoy being able to do this, time around the holidays is BUSY! Gift buying, decorating, wrapping, and general holiday preparations get added to normal daily routines. This Rolo pretzel candy is a go to recipe for us when time is short but you still want something homemade and sweet that isn’t right out of the package.

What are Rolo Pretzel Bites

Rolo Pretzel Bites Ingredients

I don’t want to spend a lot time telling you what Rolo Pretzel Bites are because I’m sure you’ve guessed it involves Rolos and pretzels. In fact, the only ingredient missing from the name is that American favorite chocolate candy that “melts in your mouth, not in your hands”.

That being said, Rolo Pretzel Bites are Rolos candy, pretzels and an M&M all in one delicious sweet and salty bite.

Easy Rolo Pretzel Bites Recipe Variations

Gluten Free Rolo Pretzel Bites

Before you jump down to the recipe here are some easy variations for your Christmas candy.

Make them Gluten Free – If you have a gluten sensitivity, make the Rolo Pretzel Bites gluten free. Use gluten free mini pretzels that are a traditional pretzel shape. They are just as tasty whether your pretzels have gluten in them or not.

Skip the M&Ms – Instead of using M&M candies as your topper, switch it up and use pecan halves. Then you have a super easy turtle candy.

Switch the M&Ms – Reese’s Pieces are a great M&M swap out option for a little bite of peanut butter.

Swap out the Rolos – Don’t like or want caramel? Swap out the rolos and use Hershey Kisses or Hershey Hugs. This happens to be my wife’s favorite way to make these bites.

These easy variations all follow the same directions so they can all be made at the same time!

Recipe Tips

  • Make a few, make a lot. This recipe doesn’t have a quantity boundary.
  • Open all of the Rolos while watching your favorite show. It’s the recipe step that takes the longest.
  • Use Parchment Paper for easy clean up if needed.

How Long Do Rolo Pretzel Bites Last

There is no chance of these hanging around long enough for them to go bad. That being said, they should be good and fresh for at least a couple of weeks after making them. Here are a couple tips to remember.

  • Store the candy at room temperature in an airtight container.
  • If it’s warm, we’ve stored them in the fridge to keep them from melting. They taste best at room temp so take them out of the fridge for a bit before eating.
  • If the pretzels are stale or soggy, they are past their prime.

I think these Rolo Pretzel Bites are definitely one of the easiest candy recipes I’ve ever made and are worth making. Make them for yourself,  family, and friends. They’ll appreciate the homemade treat that only took a few minutes to make!
