These Keto Pizza Bites are way too tasty for just those living the keto lifestyle! Find the name that fits your lifestyle. Gluten free pizza bites, mini pizza bites, and pizza chips are all good names. Whatever name you use, remember this, they are an easy homemade pizza appetizer that kids and adults LOVE!
When I mentioned that adults really like this appetizer, it’s no joke. They were the first thing gone the last two times I brought these to a friend’s house. The comment was also made that I could bring them everytime. It’s such a good feeling knowing that your food is appreciated and requested.
Keto Pizza Bites and My Keto Knowledge
I’m not lying when I say my knowledge of the Keto Diet is just enough to be dangerous. I do know that Keto and Gluten Free are similar in that they are both grain restrictive.
Since none of the ingredients are grain based, these appetizers a perfect party food option for my gluten free wife, keto dieters and low carb lovers.
Pizza Bites Ingredients
The ingredients in the homemade pizza bites are the usual suspects of a pizza.
- Finely Shredded Italian Cheese Blend
- A few herbs and spices
- Pepper pizza or marinara sauce (Keto friendly if needed) served on the side for dipping.
Equipment for This Pizza Appetizer
Mini Muffin Pan
I use a mini muffin tin for these bite sized pizzas. It makes them a great poppable appetizer.
If you don’t have a mini muffin pan, a standard muffin pan works fine. Adjust the baking time on the pizzas as needed.
Muddler
Using a muddler is completely optional but I found it works great for pressing the cheese into the pan for the no crust pizza bites. When your muddler is not being used for your favorite drink, try it on these.
Customizing the Keto Pizza Bites
Don’t worry if you’re missing some of the ingredients or just don’t like what I use in my recipe. Here are some ingredient ideas.
- The Cheese – Use an Italian Cheese Blend if you don’t have mozzarella.
- The Italian Seasoning – Substitute a teaspoon each of basil and oregano.
- The Pepperoni – Use Hormel mini pepperoni instead of chopping up larger slices.
- Switch up the Meat – Top you pizzas with sausage instead of pepperoni. Remove a link of sweet or spicy Italian Sausage from its casing. Crumble and brown it up in a fry pan. Use it in place of the pepperoni or better yet, use a combo of pepperoni AND sausage!
- Cheese Only – These things are so good make them with just the cheese and herb mix!
- Roasted Garlic Powder – Roasted Garlic Powder is easy to find in stores and online. I use it as often or more than regular garlic powder. I find it has more flavor. Regular garlic powder works fine in the recipe so don’t worry about not having any at home.
As you can see, Keto Pizza Bites are pretty much a perfect appetizer but there’s always room for variety. For other tasty appetizers and snack ideas check out some of my other recipes.
