Gluten Free Tortillas are expensive. Traditional flour tortillas are cheaper but still cost money. In either case, you don’t want to waste them. Learn how to freeze tortillas with this easy technique and never throw another one away.

Freezing tortillas is the best way to store them if you are not using them up for a meal or a few days after they’ve been opened. With this method, they won’t go to waste and you can take out the amount you need without them freezing and sticking together.

Step 2 –  Use Wax Paper or Parchment Between Each Tortilla

Tear off a piece of wax paper or parchment paper large enough to fit between each tortilla. This keeps the tortillas from sticking to each other while in the freezer. It also allows the tortillas to be thawed and used individually.

Step 3 –  Restack the Tortillas

How to Defrost Tortillas in the Refrigerator – Remove the number of tortillas needed and place them in the refrigerator. They will thaw in a few hours and can be used once thawed or within a few days.

How to Defrost Tortillas Fast – Use a microwave to quickly thaw frozen tortillas. Place tortillas on a microwave safe plate or wrap in a paper towel. Microwave for 20-30 seconds until the tortillas are thawed.
