Sautéed Mushrooms and Green Beans with Garlic
The first recipe posted on my blog was sautéed green beans. It’s an easy side dish that doesn’t take a lot of time. If you’re not a mushroom fan or just have green beans on hand then check that recipe out HERE. Taking Sautéed mushrooms and combining them with green beans adds some flair. The recipe is just as easy and only takes a few more minutes of prep and cooking time.
Tips about Mushrooms
I prefer to buy whole mushrooms especially if I am storing them for a few days in the fridge. I feel they stay fresh longer that way. Buy sliced if you are short on time, going to use them right away or if they are better priced than the whole mushrooms
Cleaning mushrooms – Take a damp paper towel and wipe them off just before slicing them. This will remove any of the dirt that is on them still. Rinsing them under water causes them to get rubbery.
Seasoning Mushrooms – I add pepper to the mushrooms once they start sautéing or once they are browned. I salt the mushrooms only after they have browned and the liquid from the mushrooms evaporates.
